Tough Like Tighe is proud to partner with Edina Football for 2026 Edina Tackle Cancer Night.
In the fall of 2025, just three months after we lost Tighe to a sudden and rare form of brain cancer,
Edina Football led by Coach Potts, parents and players, invited Tough Like Tighe to be part of
Tackle Cancer Night. At the time, we were just getting Tough Like Tighe started.

we felt incredible support from the community.
Tighe understood that sports reaches far beyond the game. It creates connection, belonging and opportunities to show up for one another. It's that spirit that drives Tough Like Tighe's mission to empower young people through sports and provide community, care and
comfort to families navigating cancer.

Tough Like Tighe is a 501(c)(3) founded to honor the life, spirit and legacy of Tighe Rogers.
Tighe was a son, a brother, a friend, a teammate and a bright light to all who knew him. Tighe was known for the way he lifted those around him with kindness, humor, strength and unwavering generosity.
In May of 2025 as Tighe was completing his junior year at Edina High School, he was unexpectedly diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer (glioblastoma). Tighe passed away in early June 2025.
The family, friends and community that love Tighe are inspired by his life and work to carry the good he brought into the world forward with Tough Like Tighe.

OUR FOCUS AREAS
EMPOWERING YOUTH THROUGH SPORTS:
In life, Tighe experienced how sports has the power to challenge people to reach their full potential.
Tighe developed confidence, friendships, dicipline, joy and personal growth while playing golf. He was also competitive skiier, prepared to be the captain of the Edina Alpine team his senior year. Tighe loved playing any sport including lots of basketball with his family and friends.
Through partnerships with the Minnesota Golf Association, Youth on Course and area schools, Tough Like Tighe is expanding access and opportunity for youth in sports.
COMMUNITY OF CARING:
Inspired by the incredible care Tighe and his family received at Children's Minnesota, Tough Like Tighe leads community service projects bringing comfort and care to families experiencing cancer.

Tighe Rogers lived with confidence, generosity, humor and an unmistakable sense of adventure. A son, brother, friend, teammate and competitor. Tighe loved golf, alpine skiing, boating, cars and F1 racing. He worked hard - preparing for golf tryouts, racing with the Edina Alpine Ski team and challenging himself in school.
At the center of Tighe’s life were the people he loved. Tighe's parents, Tanya and Brent, and his younger brother and sister, Deacon and Elaina. And, a loving dog Cagney. Tighe was blessed with dedicated, close friends.

In the gentle sway of twilight’s embrace,
Where whispers of memories softly trace,
A dragonfly flits, with wings like spun glass,
In shimmering colors, through moments that pass.
Once, in the laughter of sunlit days,
Tighe soared with a joy in adventurous ways,
With a heart full of dreams, and a spirit so free,
He chased every sunset, he reached for the sea.
In the soft flutter of wings, a message unfolds,
Of love everlasting, through stories retold.
Dragonflies carry the essence of flight,
A symbol of change, of hope in the night,
Through forests and rivers, where memories flow,
He wanders beside us, in the soft evening glow,
In laughter and love,
In the breeze that we feel,
His adventurous heart, in our souls, is still real.
So let us remember, as the dragonflies play,
That life is a journey, a beautiful sway,
For even in loss, there’s a magic we find,
In the flutter of wings, Tighe’s forever entwined.
